Hulls

Long distance human powered watercrafts are usually displacement boats.

Hulls shape and hul weight are central design issues, since ill-designed hulls and heavy boats have a big cost in term of drag (the hydrodynamic force that opposes to the movement of the boat, a function of speed) and therefore of performance.

Human powerd boats hulls are different form other kinds of hulls (say, sailboats), so it is not advisable to use for example sail catameran hulls for high performance pedal boats.

Here you can find a collection of hulls for the Open Waterbike.
